Necktie for Dad!

Dawn found an image online of an adorable necktie made from paper.  She gave the picture to Pat to figure out how to make it.  (This is because Pat is our expert with folding and scoring paper.  We think of her as a "paper engineer.")  Using her Martha Stewart Scoring Board, Pat had it mastered -- and just in time for Father's Day!
Dawn thought it would be fun to put one on a bottle of Dad's Rootbeer.  (Get it?) Notice the mustache on the cap! (Just add a little ice cream!)

Pat made this shirt/tie card to hold a candy bar, photos, gift card, money, or a picture drawn of Dad by one of his favorite kiddies!

Want to make one for your dad?  Get out your scoring board and keep reading!

Here is a diagram with dimensions, cut lines and fold lines for the shirt card base and necktieClick here for full size diagram.

AND we have a very first video to SHOW YOU HOW to make the project.  Pat was so kind to go "on camera" and take us through the steps.  So sit back, get the popcorn, and have a look!
Leave a comment to us know how you like the video. We'd like to do more and would love your input on our first try!

If paper folding to create dimensional boxes, tags, cards, and other items interests you, register for Pat's scoring board class coming in July!
