Hello, Memory Bound friends!
In December of 2013, our customer Nancy McGrew came to one of my card classes armed with a bag of her homemade peanut butter balls to share. At that time, the only peanut butter balls I had ever tried were my grandma's and, although yummy, they were nothing to write home about. But Nancy's peanut butter balls were unlike anything I had ever tried! I seriously could have eaten the entire bag!
Nancy generously shared the recipe with us, but I didn't have a chance to make a batch until this past Christmas. My husband, who considers himself a connoisseur of peanut butter balls, agrees that Nancy's recipe is hands-down the best ever!
Don't wait until next Christmas to make this recipe. It's easy, and the results are completely delicious! Thanks so much to Nancy for sharing her fantastic recipe!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls
Nancy McGrew
2 cups creamy peanut butter
1 pound powdered sugar
3 cups Rice Krispies
½ cup butter, softened
1 pound Hershey Milk Chocolate Bar
12 ounce bag of Hershey Milk Chocolate Chips
Mix first 4 ingredients together and roll into small balls, ¾”
inch. Freeze for 1 hour or so. Melt together chocolate bar and chips in double
boiler. Use two forks to dip balls into the chocolate. Let them sit overnight
on waxed paper. (In the winter, we set the pans in the garage. It’s about 40
degrees and they set up well.)
Makes approximately 6 dozen.

You know if you dunk them in chocolate and leave just a little of the peanbutter area plain you can call them buckeyes, because they truly do look like the buckeye nut found in Ohio.... the nut is poisonous, but the college teams are cool (go Buckeyes!!).
