Hello, Memory Bound friends!
Today's tips are for those of you who have used Creative Memories albums and refills and are looking for new alternatives, as Creative Memories has recently gone out of business. We have great options for both page refills and albums at Memory Bound!
The Pioneer top-loading scrapbook refills work perfectly with the Creative Memories staple-strap system. Pioneer refills are an excellent option if you would like to add additional pages to an existing Creative Memories scrapbook.
We also have albums in stock and coming soon which are similar in style to Creative Memories scrapbooks, if you are looking to finish a series of albums.
Stop in and we'll be happy to help you find the refills and new albums you need to continue preserving your family's memories!

Happy holiday crafting,
Memory Bound friends!
The ladies who attended our recent Girls' Night Out meeting got a little CRAFTY! Diane, our store manager and fearless leader, organized a fun gift-bag making session for us. Everyone took home a decorated bag ready for the holidays. It was a super-fun and easy project, and a great way to personalize your gift packaging! It would be a wonderful activity to do with a group of friends or kids!
To make gift bags, you need just THREE things -- well, FOUR, if you count your index finger! -- a paper bag, a plastic stencil, and Inka Gold Metallic Rub. If you've never worked with this product, it's the smoothest, silkiest cream you've ever touched! It comes in beautifully rich colors. A little goes a long way when making bags! You simply place the stencil on the bag, put a little Metallic Rub on your index finger, then rub it in the openings on the stencil.
We started by choosing stencils and colors, then got to work. Here you see RaNae, Janice, and Karen in full concentration! :)
You can see how serious the group was! NOT! LOL Janis and Diana would NOT hold still for the picture, they were giggling so much! I love the look on Jill's face! :)

Oops, I almost cut Janis out of the picture! Next to Janis we have Diana, Jill, Jennifer (our newest Memory Bound employee!), and Peggy.
And here you can see Jill working diligently while Janis and Diana got silly again! You can see how much they were bouncing!

Hello, Memory Bound friends!
I've been scrapbooking for around 15 years now, and I would say without a doubt that this hobby has become much more than a pastime for me. It has allowed me to document special moments in our family's story, given me the opportunity to put my feelings in writing, and helped me appreciate the special "everyday moments" in life...all while playing with color, texture, and design! What could be more fun than that? Each time I look back through my albums, I am SO GLAD that I got started in scrapbooking all those years ago! The albums I'm creating now are a gift for future generations.
Would you or a friend like to get started scrapbooking? Look no further than Memory Bound! We offer a great class which will introduce you to the basics -- both the PROCESS of scrapbooking and the PRODUCTS you'll need to be successful. I enjoy introducing new folks to scrapbooking and would love to help YOU get started saving your precious memories!

In a recent post, Katie shared photos of a wonderful December Daily album which our store manager Diane made for her daughter. Well, hold onto your stocking caps because Diane just finished a SECOND December Daily album for herself! In today's post, we'll take at this beautiful project.
What's a December Daily? This is a small album (sometimes called a December Journal) which you create ahead of time with a page or pages for each day of December. Then throughout the month, you document your holiday activities by adding a picture, recipe, program, card, or memory...anything you did that day to celebrate the season. By the end of the month, you have a keepsake you'll treasure for years to come!
Now, back to Diane's album. First off, I LOVE the size she chose to use for this album -- 6x12! This size allows ample room for 4x6 photos. Diane used 6x12 page protectors by American Crafts (just $3.99 for a package of 10) throughout her album.
Diane used corrugated cardboard (peeled and distressed) for the covers, along with a variety of vintage Christmas papers and elements.

Here's a peek inside at just a few of the pages. As you can see, Diane incorporated burlap into her album. It adds a warmth and texture to any project!
This glittered snowflake adds a beautiful vintage touch! Diane cut the snowflake out of chipboard using one of the dies in our Accu Cut die cutting center, then coated it with Glossy Accents and sprinkled it with our favorite glitter, Silver Crushed Glass Glitter by Stampendous.
It is unlike any other glitter! Stop in and pick some up! Diane even made a set of chipboard glittered ornaments for her Christmas tree.
Diane took the time to add lots of details to her project while leaving plenty of space to add a photo, recipe, or other memory for each day of the month. I love how she created the rosette with die cut holly leaves tucked behind it.
This flashcard provides a different page size. It's easy to incorporate differently-sized pages when you're working with a ring-bound album.
Diane cut a 12x12 sheet of paper to feature the old-world Santa at the left. The right page includes a small bag with a pull-out tag for journaling.
Thanks to Diane for sharing another wonderful project with us! If you'd like to make a December Daily album, stop in! We'd love to help you get started making your own keepsake to celebrate the holiday season.

Hello, Memory Bound friends!
Have you heard about our Mixed Media Happy Hour? Maggie
started this class in May and since then, everyone has been having a great time
learning new art journal techniques each month!
Here's how this class came about:
In March, guest instructor
Cheryl Mezzetti taught an art journal class. It was such a success, her
students asked for this type of class to continue. So Maggie developed Mixed
Media Happy Hour, taking the things she learned from Cheryl & adding lots
more. You'll spend the evening working on your art journal while socializing
with new friends!
Join us at our November class to explore the world of mixed media
as you alter a hard bound book! In November, Maggie will introduce you to new surface techniques to use in your altered book. Check out
the class description below, then call us at (515) 965-1102 to sign up!
