Whether your summer plans include far away travels or a
stay-cation close to home, take your camera and scrapbook
your memories!
Here are some ideas to try on your next trip:
Take photos of the journey, as well as the destination.
Record activities and events in a journal to help
remember the details.
Ask everyone each day for his or her favorite memory.
Take along a tripod so you can take photos of the whole
group.
Collect memorabilia such as postcards, brochures, maps,
menus, foreign currency, ticket stubs, etc. Add them to your scrapbook or use
them for information about your trip.
Keepsake Envelopes
Whether you want to preserve a lock of hair, a ticket stub, or special coins, the Keepsake
Envelopes by Scrapbook Adhesives are perfect! They are archival to ensure safe
keeping for years to come. The clear envelopes have a re-sealable flap and a
permanent self-adhesive back, so you can attach them to cards or layouts.
They can be decorated with paint, stickers, and even embossed!

Hello, Memory Bound friends!
When I teach classes, I often ask card makers about the kinds of themes they find most difficult. They usually tell me they have the most trouble making masculine and sympathy cards. Recently several card makers also mentioned that they find it hard to make cards for someone suffering from a serious illness or working through a difficult time in life. So our next Graphic 45 card class features six "Care and Concern" cards -- greetings to send to someone who has hit a rough patch on the road of life. I think the Graphic 45 Typography line is perfect for this type of theme. The rich colors and images imply strength and confidence.
I'll also be repeating my recent Sympathy Cards class on July 27. Click HERE for more information on that offering.
In addition, we have kits available from my June Graphic 45 class, "More Cards for Guys". You can a photo of the cards in this post. Give us a call or stop in if you'd like one of these kits!
I hope you'll join me for one or both of these classes! It's good to have these kinds of cards on hand for those times when you need to reach out to a friend. Call us at (515) 965-1102 to register or order a kit.

Hello, Memory Bound friends!
In today's post we are sharing some photos from our June Girls' Night Out meeting. This group meets monthly for fun and inspiration. We occasionally have special events, crops, and learn new techniques, too. At this particular meeting, Fonda (one of our founding members) gave the group a lesson in watercolor painting...with beautiful results!
The ladies all started with a blank canvas.
With direction from Fonda, they got started.
Everyone
had a wonderful time and took home an original painting! Many thanks to
Fonda for sharing her expertise with the group! And thanks to Diane for
taking photos.
New folks are always welcome at Girls' Night Out! Our next meeting is on Monday, July 14, 6-7:30. It's FREE! Members bring projects they've been working on to share with the group. It's always fun and inspiring to see what everyone has been doing! Give us a call at (515) 965-1102 if you have any questions or would like to join us next time!

Hello, Memory Bound friends!
Thanks to everyone who attended Maggie's June Mixed Media Night! Students created a patriotic canvas, "Land of the Free", using a variety of fun mixed media products and techniques -- archival inks, crackle paint, stamps, stencils, and more. This canvas will be perfect to display in July or year-round! Instructions are available for this canvas project ($3).
If you'd like to dabble in mixed media but aren't sure where to start, our Mixed Media Night is for you! You'll create a new project each month using mixed media products and techniques. It's always a great time! Our next class is coming up on Tuesday, July 15, 6-8pm and features a festive Christmas canvas. Call us at (515) 965-1102 to register!
